GTD Approved (Getting Things Done)
I’m always looking for ways to improve my productivity. Not too long ago, my kool-dude web guy started talking to me about a series of electronic devices that he thought would help me. And then he said they were all “GTD approved”! This meant nothing to me! He explained that “GTD” was a book from David Allen, called “Getting Things Done“. It has evolved into a work-life management system that allows you to take on all those responsibilities that make you feel overwhelmed.
I believe that health and happiness lie in your ability to maintain some type of balance in life. I always thought I was rather busy and had a lot happening. Compared to now that was slow! As Longevity Studios and my family grows so do the “things I have to get done”. So I feel it’s time to expand my skill set with priority and time management. I have not read “Getting Things Done” yet. I am going to start next week and as I go through it I will let you know how it is working.
What helped me make the decision to start is what I call the Law of Three. When I get 3 references to the same item, within a relatively short time-frame, I believe someone or something wants me to investigate. I had the mention from the web-guy and then I received this from Dr. Mercola, where David Allen is speaking to Google about GTD. The last contact came the other day when an employee at Kinkos told me not to forget my book that was sitting on the counter…yep, you guessed it, “Getting Things Done”. The book wasn’t mine, until I bought it!
