The world’s largest hamburger

A world record was set last weekend for the world’s largest hamburger, weighing in at 150 pounds.

You may have seen the story. But did you know that burger has 270,000 calories? That’s more than 100 days worth of energy for an average adult. You’d only have to order food 3 times a year! You can order one of these mammoth burgers for just $350 dollars! No, I’m not recommending you order one. I just find it entertaining.

The ingredients for the 150 lb “Absolutely Ridiculous Burger”:

  • 120 pounds (precooked) Black Angus ground beef (about 90 pounds cooked)
  • 18 3/4 pounds cheese
  • 15 pounds bacon
  • 7 1/2 pounds lettuce
  • 15 pounds tomatoes
  • 48-pound bun
  • Cost: $350 with 24-hour advance notice necessary
  • Calories: 270,000 (estimated)
