Spring Dell Center’s 15th Annual Auction

Last week I was attending a breakfast networking event hosted by CEOJunction and I met Donna Retzlaff, the Executive Director of the Spring Dell Center. I heard about the fantastic work they are doing and some of the events coming up in the very near future. I have always been a fan of the center’s work and the service they provide to our community. I have experienced some of the wonder they have created by integrating persons with disabilities back into the community …and life really.

With the economy the way it has been recently, many of the organizations that depend on charitable donations and efforts are not having the easiest of times obtaining them. People, myself included, are looking put those funds in our own pockets, in case we need it for a rainy day. I was reminded the other day by a very wise person about the abundance cycle. Giving and receiving are really just different sides of the the same coin. If you want to start the cycle flowing, it doesn’t matter where you start, you just have to start. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson who said:

It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no person can sincerely try to help another without helping themselves.

With this in mind, I want to encourage all of you to attend the Spring Dell Center’s 15th Annual Auction. It’s happening Friday, November 21st at the Waldorf Jaycee’s Hall. The doors open at 5:00 pm and dinner is at 5:45 pm. There is a live and silent auction that includes the following items: trips, sports memorabilia, 17 ft. Sunbird Boat (1992), dinner gift certificates, paintings, furniture, and antiques. You can RSVP by calling 301-932-1601.

In the service of others, we find our happiness! I hope to see you there.
