My wife use to own a BMW. I never really like the car. It wasn’t a bad car, I just never really thought of myself a BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes kinda guy (there goes those endorsements!). The car had a lot of nice features, including a combustible engine. No, not a combustion engine, a combustible engine. It literally blew up in our driveway.

Another nice feature that my wife would use on a regular basis on those cold days was the car seat heaters. Within seconds, your bottom could be nice and toasty as you rolled down the road. I’m not a big fan of cold, but I didn’t like the seat heaters. It wasn’t until I read an article on MSNBC that I now recognize that intuitively my body was telling me not to like the car! OK…maybe I’m just making that up!!

Basically, the article suggests that heated car seats may impair sperm quality and contribute to male infertility. The most interesting point to me was that just sitting increases the scrotal temperature and the effect of the heated car seat is actually weaker.

So for all of you out there trying to have a baby, the men may want to “suffer in silence” and bare the harsh reality of a cold morning car seat!
